This year we host our annual Kwanzaa celebration on the second day of Kwanzaa, Kujichagulia,

which represents Self Determination.

Kujichagulia is a Swahili word meaning "self-determination," and it is the second principle of Kwanzaa.

It encourages people to define themselves, name themselves, create for themselves, and speak for themselves, emphasizing the importance of personal and collective identity and responsibility. This principle calls for people to take control of their own lives and futures, rather than allowing others to define them.​

In the spirit of this principle of encouraging people to define themselves, name themselves, create for themselves, and speak for themselves, emphasizing the importance of personal and collective identity and responsibility at Kwanzaa FEST will feature act and craft activities, free fresh produce market, global food tastings, holistic health and life resource hub, live entertainment, , panel discussion, pop-up art exhibit, and local & small business marketplace. Join us as we take control of own lives, families, neighborhoods, communities and futures – through collaboration, unifying and uplifting each other from within.
